For over 20 years, The Better
Cheddar has been offering its wide selection of Kansas City gourmet gift baskets and

 To give you a bit of history, Ron
Shalinsky purchased a small cheese and sandwich shop in Kansas
City in 1983 and turned it into THE destination for Kansas City gourmet gift baskets in Kansas City as well as the largest selection of
cheese in at least the four-state area. Since then, The Better
Cheddar has enjoyed a thriving business helping to provide Kansas City gourmet gift baskets, driven from its main
location on the Country Club Plaza, Kansas City's fashionable
outdoor shopping district. In 1986, Ron opened a second store including Kansas City gourmet gift baskets,
just across the border in Prairie Village, Kansas. It has been
estimated that The Better Cheddar offers about 4,000 items along with its Kansas City gourmet gift baskets, so
we hope you will enjoy browsing our shelves, either in the
store or on our website. The NASFT (National Association of
the Specialty Food Trade) honored The Better Cheddar in 2003
by recognizing it as one of the Top 5 Specialty Food Retailers
