About Better Cheddar

A BIT OF HISTORY ABOUT THE BETTER CHEDDAR

Ron Shalinsky purchased a struggling sandwich shop in Kansas City in 1983 and turned it into THE destination for gourmet food items as well as the largest selection of cheese in a four-state area. For over 20 years The Better Cheddar has enjoyed a thriving business, driven from it's location on the tony Country Club Plaza. In 1986, Ron opened a second store just across the border in Prairie Village, Kansas. It has been estimated that The Better Cheddar offers about 4,000 items, so we hope you will enjoy browsing our shelves, either in the store or on our website. Of course we can't offer all of our items on the website, but we have picked a generous selection of our favorites.
